Sascha Schediwy is an internationally recognised researcher in the fields of high-precision astronomy and space instrumentation. In 2021, his research leadership was recognised Australian Space Awards Academic of the Year, as well as the Excellence Award, which is given to the overall winner across all nine individual award categories. Sascha has contributed to two global science mega-projects, Advanced LIGO and the Square Kilometre Array (SKA), and he is a world leader in the emerging field of coherent free-space laser link research. Sascha leads a four-year, $1.7M SmartSat CRC Research Project (P1-01/18); he is the lead designer of the SKA-Mid Phase Synchronisation System and an Associate Investigator in the ARC Centre of Excellence for Engineered Quantum Systems (EQUS).
